The gearbox of a bulldozer achieves different gears by changing the meshing position of gears. When power is transmitted from the gearbox output shaft to the small gear, due to the different number of teeth between the small gear and the large gear, based on the principle that the speed of the two gears is inversely proportional to their number of teeth and the torque is directly proportional to their number of teeth (diameter), the small gear acts as the driving gear, reducing the speed while increasing the torque and transmitting it to the large gear, thereby providing sufficient power for the bulldozer to move.

Material: High strength and strong impact toughness steel such as 20CrNi3, 18CrMnTi and other forged steels are usually used. After appropriate heat treatment, these materials can meet the working requirements of gears under high load and alternating stress conditions

Performance requirements: High hardness, strength, and wear resistance to resist wear and fatigue damage during gear meshing; At the same time, it should have good impact toughness and be able to withstand the impact loads generated during the operation of bulldozers, ensuring the service life and transmission reliability of gears.
Small gears play a crucial role in bulldozers. It can not only change the speed or torque, achieve variable speed and torque, but also transmit power through cooperation with other gears, reduce friction, adapt to different operational needs, and ensure the efficient operation of bulldozers in various working conditions

Regular inspection: Check the wear of the gears, whether there are cracks, peeling or other damages on the tooth surface, and whether the meshing clearance of the gears is normal. Inspection can be carried out through observation, measurement, and other methods, such as using a feeler gauge to measure gear clearance.
Cleaning and lubrication: Keep the gears clean to prevent impurities, dust, etc. from entering the gear meshing area, affecting transmission efficiency and accelerating gear wear. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly replace the lubricating oil inside the gearbox to ensure good lubrication of the gears and reduce friction and wear.
Timely repair and replacement: Once damage is found to the gear, such as broken teeth, severe wear, etc., it should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner. For some minor wear or damage, welding and other processes can be used for repair; But for severely damaged gears, it is usually necessary to replace them with new ones to ensure the normal operation of the bulldozer.
